We are seeking a Metrology Technician I to join our Quality Department at our Marble Falls facility. ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Quality Inspector / Metrology Technician I, your primary focus will be precision measurement, inspection, and support of our calibration program. You will develop expertise in the tools, techniques, and systems used to verify dimensional accuracy on complex machined components while supporting the continuous improvement of our Quality Management System.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of machined components and assemblies.
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, thread gages, pin gages, bore gages, and other inspection tools.
  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain quality documentation.
  • Assist with receiving inspection activities as required.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the company’s calibration program under the guidance of the Quality Department, ensuring inspection and measurement equipment remains calibrated, traceable, and available for production use.
  • Maintain calibration records and coordinate calibration activities with external service providers.
  • Learn and operate advanced inspection equipment, including coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), under supervision.
  • Support machinists and production personnel by helping identify and resolve quality concerns.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to measurement systems, inspection processes, and quality documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of manufacturing, machining, inspection, calibration, or related technical experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and dimensional requirements.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, including decimals, fractions, and basic geometry.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, or similar inspection equipment.
  • Exposure to machining, manufacturing, fabrication, quality inspection, or calibration environments.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and basic GD&T concepts.
  • Experience maintaining calibration records or supporting calibration systems.
  • Exposure to AS9100, ISO 9001, or other quality management systems.
  • Experience using ERP or quality management software.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to safely work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to visually inspect parts and read measurement instruments accurately.

This position supports customers in the defense industry. Candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check and qualify to access technical information subject to U.S. export control regulations.
