AEROSPACE CNC MACHINING
For over 50 years, Specialty Machine has been a trusted partner to the aerospace and defense industry, delivering mission-critical components that demand absolute precision and unwavering reliability.
Our Capabilities
Precision for
Flight-Critical Components
In an industry where the cost of part failure is not an option, we provide the technical expertise, rigorous compliance and stable capacity that program managers and engineers at top OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers require.
We understand that sourcing complex aerospace components involves navigating strict regulatory requirements, challenging material specifications and volatile supply chains. Specialty Machine eliminates that risk. From the F-35 program to next-generation UAVs and hypersonic vehicles, we are the partner you can count on to deliver zero-defect parts, on time, every time.
From Rapid Prototyping to Full Production
A common friction point in aerospace development is the gap between prototyping and production. Handing off a design from a development shop to a high-volume manufacturer often introduces delays, miscommunication and quality issues.
Specialty Machine eliminates this risk with prototype-to-production continuity. Our engineering team collaborates with you to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM), accelerating development cycles by up to 30%. Once the design is proven, we seamlessly transition to full-rate production within the same facility, using the same processes and quality protocols.
- Rapid Prototyping: Fast-turnaround development to accelerate your R&D timelines.
- Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP): Scalable runs for test phases and early deployment.
- Full Production: Sustained high-volume manufacturing with 40% open capacity to scale with your program needs.
AS9100D & ITAR Compliance
In aerospace manufacturing, compliance is the foundation of trust. Non-certified suppliers can lead to costly rework, program delays and significant compliance risks. Specialty Machine is completely equipped to meet the stringent demands of the defense industrial base.
Over the last four years, we have delivered over 469,000 parts with 96%+ on-time delivery and zero non-conformances – a proven track record that demonstrates our commitment to quality and schedule certainty.
- AS9100D & ISO 9001:2015 Certified: Our quality management system is built to the highest aerospace standards, ensuring rigorous process control and complete traceability for every component we ship.
- ITAR Registered: We are fully registered and compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This makes us a secure partner for defense and aerospace programs.
- JCP Certified & SPRS Registered: Our certifications streamline your procurement process. This shows our ability to reliably and securely handle sensitive and/or proprietary technical information.
- CMMC 2.0 Level 2 (In Progress): We are proactively investing in cybersecurity compliance to protect the integrity of your supply chain and ensure future eligibility for the most demanding defense programs.
Integrated Capabilities for Complex Assemblies
We go beyond simple machining. We offer vertically integrated capabilities that simplify your supply chain as a full-service contact manufacturer. Our 60,000+ square foot facilities in Central Texas house.
This breadth of in-house capability allows us to act as a true strategic partner, reducing your vendor management burden and ensuring single-source accountability.
- 70+ CNC Machines: Including 5-axis mills, Swiss turning and horizontal machining centers.
- On-Site AWS-Certified Welding: Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI) for GTAW, GMAW and orbital welding of critical assemblies.
- Class 100 Cleanroom: Ideal for sensitive aerospace and defense assemblies requiring strict contamination control.
- Full Assembly & Kitting: We manage sub-component integration, leak checks and final kitting to deliver ready-to-install assemblies.
Engineering Confidence
We Work With Exotic Alloys & Tight Tolerances
At Specialty Machine, complex materials are our specialty. Our team possesses decades of combined experience machining the full spectrum of the superalloys required for high-performance flight.
We routinely hold precision to ±0.0005 inches on our multi-axis CNC machining centers and achieve surface finishes and geometries down to ±0.0002 inches with our Kellenberger cylindrical grinding system.
Whether your project requires complex 5-axis milling, wire EDM or precision grinding, we have the in-house capability to produce complex geometries without secondary operations or rework.

What quality and compliance certifications do you hold for aerospace manufacturing?
What quality and compliance certifications do you hold for aerospace manufacturing?
We are fully certified to meet the strict regulatory compliance demanded by the aerospace industry. Specialty Machine is ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified, as well as ITAR-Registered and JCP Certified.
Additionally, our facility has controlled access and cybersecurity policies aligned with NIST SP 800-171, and we are actively pursuing CMMC 2.0 Level 2 compliance, which is expected in Q1 2026.
02
Can you machine exotic "superalloys" and difficult materials required for flight-critical components?
Can you machine exotic "superalloys" and difficult materials required for flight-critical components?
Yes. We specialize in handling complex material challenges and have extensive expertise machining exotic alloys that many other suppliers find difficult or risky.
We routinely machine materials such as titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel, beryllium copper, and high-strength steels, as well as specialized plastics and composites used in aerospace applications
03
Do you handle both rapid prototyping and full-scale production runs?
Do you handle both rapid prototyping and full-scale production runs?
Absolutely. We solve the common “prototype-to-production gap” by keeping the entire lifecycle under one roof, eliminating the need for costly and risky supplier handoffs.
Our prototype-to-production continuity has been documented to reduce development cycles by up to 30%. We can scale seamlessly from single validation prototypes to low-, medium-, and full-rate production runs.
04
What are your machining capabilities regarding tolerances and part sizes?
What are your machining capabilities regarding tolerances and part sizes?
With over 70 CNC machines across two facilities, our capabilities include multi-axis CNC milling and turning (up to 5-axis) that can hold tolerances of ±0.0005 inches, and precision grinding that achieves tolerances as tight as ±0.0002 inches.
We routinely handle parts with work envelopes up to 60 inches in all dimensions, and can accommodate larger custom work on a case-by-case basis.
